About Us
We’re unique.
Our one-on-one approach begins when you make your initial appointment! At your first appointment, a comprehensive evaluation is performed and a treatment plan is designed specifically to help you meet your goals. At each session, you will receive personalized attention from your therapist; with seven private treatment rooms and a fully equipped gym, the staff at Body Mechanix can meet each patient’s individual needs while respecting their privacy and dignity.
At Body Mechanix, our physical therapists are committed to delivering the highest quality comprehensive care. All of our licensed therapists continue to pursue advanced clinical education and training in evidence based therapeutic interventions. Every therapist has a doctorate in PT, is certified in dry needling, and utilizes instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, cupping, and many other modalities. Our facility offers state-of-the-art equipment to conduct high-level procedures, including mechanical spinal traction, ultrasound, cold laser, infrared, and iontophoresis.
Osteopractic
Body Mechanix is also proud to be one of the only Osteopractic Physical Therapy clinics in the state of Rhode Island. Karen Agostinucci and Shari Kaliski were both awarded a diploma in Osteopractic physical therapy in December 2015. An Osteopractor is a physical therapist or medical doctor that has completed an evidence-based post-graduate training program in the use of high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust manipulation and dry needling for the diagnosis and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal conditions of the spine and extremities. The Diploma in Osteopractic (Dip. Of Osteopractic) is a relatively new credential, trademarked by the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy and Spinal Manipulation Institute.
The term osteopractor literally translates to “bone practitioner”. The diploma is given only to physical therapists who have completed a rigorous, evidenced-based series of courses including: Certification in Spinal Manipulation (Cert. SMT - a series of four courses), Certification in Dry Needling (Cert. DN - a series of two courses, fifty-four total hours), Extremity Manipulative Therapy, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), and Differential Diagnosis & Multi-Modal Management of Upper and Lower Extremity Spine-Related Pain Syndromes.
